Hello, I’m Andrea – the hands and heart behind Buttonleaf Makes.
A few years ago, I swapped the bustle of London for the leafy calm of Ash Vale. Surrounded by woods, birdsong, and open skies, something in me began to shift.
While teaching watercolours to my daughter and her friends, I picked up a brush myself and found a quiet kind of joy I hadn’t realised I was missing.

Over time, I slowly built a small studio and craft room, filled with plants, colour, and natural inspiration. Succulents quickly stole my heart, their sculptural forms, vibrant leaves, and gentle resilience still amaze me.
Our garden, once just a patch of bare rocks and slate, became my next canvas. I began learning how to grow, propagate, and nurture and before long, friends were calling me green-fingered (a nickname I wear with pride!).
I live for life’s simple rhythms: healthy living, the grounding presence of nature and I’ve long been drawn to ancient geometrical symbols. I believe in the healing power of the natural world, the uplifting effect of colour, and the quiet wisdom held in these sacred forms, which often find their way into my work.
Buttonleaf Makes is where it all comes together, handmade gifts inspired by plants, paint, and slow, thoughtful living.
I hope they bring a little light and calm to your day, too.
